Terms & Conditions

General:

  • By contacting us, you agree to be added to our mailing list

  • Clay Studios will not be responsible for damage to or loss of property.  Please don’t bring valuables into the studio and please be careful and considerate with car parking and loading/unloading.

  • Respect others’ privacy and peace – keep noise to a minimum and take phone calls outside the studio.

  • Do not come into the studio if you are unwell.

  • All firing is done with the utmost care, but we cannot accept responsibility for any cracks or breakages.

  • Fired pieces will be kept for collection for 2 weeks on our collection shelves, then 2 months stored, and if still not picked up will be put into our SPCA donation sales or disposed of.

  • Images of work produced in the studio may be used for display and advertising.

 

Term courses:

  • Enrolment fee is due before the commencement of the first class of term.

  • Students are responsible for supplying their own clay and pay for their own firing, unless noted for a specific class or course.

  • Fees may be refunded, minus a $20 admin fee, if you cancel your booking with a minimum 2 weeks before the first class of term.  There will be no refund if cancellation occurs within 2 weeks of this first class.

  • Your booking may be directly transferred to another suitable person up to a week before the first class without penalty.  No transfers will be allowed after this time and no refund will be given.

  • If you are unwell, please do not attend your class,

  • If you are unable to attend one of your booked classes within a course, we will do our best to help you catch up with the rest of the class as needed but there will be no refund or make-up class.

  • We may, at times, have to cancel a course due to inadequate enrollment numbers.  We will notify you as soon as we can and a full refund will be given.

  • If we must change tutors at any time before or within a course, we will notify you as soon as possible.

 

One-off classes:

  • Enrolment fee is due before the commencement of the class.

  • Fees may be refunded, minus a $20 admin fee, if you cancel your booking with a minimum 2 weeks before the class.  There will be no refund if cancellation occurs within 2 weeks of the class.

  • If you are unwell, please do not attend your class.

  • If you are unable to attend your class for whatever reason, you may let us know and have someone come in your place.  If you cannot find someone to fill your spot, we will not give a refund but will offer you a half-price spot in another class.

  • We may, at times, have to cancel a class due to inadequate enrollment numbers.  We will notify you a minimum of 2 weeks in advance and a full refund will be given.

  • If we must change tutors for a class, we will notify you as soon as possible.

 

Party room bookings:

  • Booking fee is due 2 weeks before the party.

  • Fees may be refunded, minus a $20 admin fee, if you cancel your booking with a minimum 2 weeks before the party.  There will be no refund if cancellation occurs within 2 weeks of the party.

  • If anyone is unwell, please ensure they do not attend the party.

  • If we must change hosts for a party, we will notify you as soon as possible.

 

Membership:

  • The full amount of the fee for the selected time period is due and payable on signing up for membership. Payments can be made either by credit card or direct credit into Clay Studios Ltd bank account.

  • Members are responsible for supplying their own clay and tools and pay for their own firing.

  • Bookings are required and must be adhered to for sessions on wheels or hand-building areas.  This can be done through our online bookings page or by phone.

  • Members must treat the facilities with respect and care.  A member will be financially responsible for any damage due to negligence or willful harm.  The clean up procedure from our Members’ Manual must be adhered to at the end of every booked session.

  • The access door pin code must not be divulged to any other person, used outside of the specified hours or used once your membership expires.

  • Please ensure you keep your supplies and work on your own shelf.  If you need extra space, come and talk to us and we will see what we can organise.  If supplies or work are found on another shelf it will be disposed of or recycled.

  • Your membership cannot be transferred to another person.

  • Please give us notice of a minimum of 2 weeks before the end of your month if you intend to cancel your membership.
